The Department of Computer Science and Computer Applications was established in the year 1998. Initially, the Department started offering B.Sc(Computer Science) with Maths, Physics and Computer Science combination with an intake of 30 seats. Later in the year 2015 the programme Maths,Chemistry and Computer Science was initiated with the intake of 30 seats and B.Com(Computer Applications) was initiated with 60 intake. With the increase in demand for computer science MPCs and MCCs intake was increased to 50 in the year 2017.Keeping in the view market scenario and industry requirements the Department started offering M.Sc (Computer Science) programme with an intake of 20 seats and Web enabled Technolgies with the combination of Maths and Physics with the intake of 40 seats. The department has 4 NET/SET qualified staff members with M.Tech. degree in Computer Science. Faculty members of the Department have specialized areas for advanced studies and research in Pattern Recognition,Cloud Computing,Image Processing ,Software Engineering, Wireless Sensor Networks, Computer Networks, Database and Data Mining, Natural Language Processing & Internet of Things.Students of the Department get selected for higher studies in most reputed Universities and Institutes and placed in reputed companies like Infosys,Wipro,Tcs etc., The Department is equally active in research with many quality publications each year in IEEE, Scopus,Springer, UGC-Care list , etc.,
